How to verify your account: from live-synced to broker-verified to trading privileges

ConfirmedTrades team · 9 March 2026 · 6 min read

Climb the ConfirmedTrades trust ladder step by step: connect the Pulse connector, earn the broker-verified badge, then pass the trading-privileges check.

Why bother climbing the ladder

Viewers filter by verification. An unverified record with a great curve gets less attention than a verified one with an honest curve, because viewers have learned that great curves are cheap. Each rung you climb removes a reason for someone to doubt you, and the Score rewards it directly: the trust component is worth 15 points out of 100, and a verified account gets the full amount.

The whole process is free on every plan. Nothing here requires a paid tier.

Three different claims, often confused. Self-reported history proves nothing on its own; live sync proves the trades are real; broker verification proves the account is whose it says it is.

Step 1: connect the terminal (live-synced)

Sign up at /signup, choose your permanent User ID, and create your key from the dashboard. Install the ConfirmedTrades Pulse connector on the MetaTrader 4 or 5 terminal that runs the account (the same terminal your Expert Advisor or trading bot runs in), paste your key in, and let it run. The account appears in your dashboard automatically, and trades, balance and equity start streaming.

From this point the record is live-synced. You did not upload anything, and you cannot edit what has been sent. Sync frequency depends on your plan, from every 15 minutes on Free to every minute on higher tiers, but the history is the same either way.

Keep the terminal running. If it goes offline for a while the account stops updating, and a stale account loses recency points in the Score and starts drifting towards Dormant in its activity level.

Step 2: broker verification (the badge)

Broker verification is the independent cross-check at the broker itself. It uses read-only investor access, which means the check can see your history but cannot place trades, close positions or move money. Nothing about your trading account's security changes.

Once the check passes, your account shows the Broker-verified badge, the trust component of your Score is maxed, and you appear when viewers filter Rankings to verified only. Research accounts, which are intentionally editable for study purposes, cannot be broker-verified; that is by design, so a verified badge always means untouched data.

Step 3: trading privileges (prove you control it)

Investor access proves the history is real. It does not prove the account is yours. Anyone with an investor password could publish someone else's account. The trading-privileges check closes that gap, and it is deliberately simple.

In your dashboard, open the account and find the Trading Privileges panel. It shows a short verification code unique to that account. In MetaTrader, place a pending order that will not fill, for example a Buy Limit far below the current price, and put the code in the order's comment. The comment only needs to contain the code.

The connector reports pending-order comments on its next sync. When the server sees your code, the check flips to Verified on its own; there is no button to press. After that you can delete the pending order whenever you like. The check is passive and carries no market risk, because a pending order far from price never executes.

If the check does not pass after a sync or two, confirm the comment was saved on the order (some brokers limit comment length) and that the terminal is still connected.

What you can still control after verifying

Verifying does not mean publishing everything. You choose which sections of your public page show, in what order, how open positions appear (full, symbol and direction only, or hidden), and whether individual closed trades are revealed with a delay of 1, 6, 12 or 24 hours to stop live copying. Your verified totals and headline stats are always public, which is what makes the badge worth something.

See sharing your results for how to use those controls well.

Common questions

  • Does the connector need a computer? Only to install it on MetaTrader. Everything else works from a mobile browser.
  • Will renaming my account break the badge or my links? No. Links use a permanent ID and survive renames.
  • Can I verify a demo account? You can connect and sync it, and it is flagged as Demo. Be aware that viewers are told to be sceptical of demo-only results.
  • Can I verify several accounts? Yes, within your plan's account limit. Each is verified separately.

Do it in one place

On ConfirmedTrades, every published account shows its verification badges, an AI strategy analysis that flags martingale, grid and missing stop-losses, the full drawdown and risk stats, and execution costs per symbol — so you can vet a strategy before you trust it, or prove your own.
